The Ladrillo Family

The Ladrillo Family

The Ladrillo print captures the contemporary Pueblo in expansion. Ladrillo gets its name and soft yet structural form from the grey bricks of construction projects going up all around town. Inspired by the birds’-eye view of the energetic Calle Principal, the main commercial street where Cojolya is based, the grey buildings enclose colorful creations. An expertly designed landscape, each product from the Ladrillo family has a small variation in piping with different colored threads. This balance between textured weave and small details came from longstanding weaver María Tiney, who is the master of Cojolya’s thick brocades and helped our designer develop the first sample. Whether in Zinc, lilac rose, amber yellow, or blue attoll, the slight details retrace the labyrinthine callejones and side-streets that weave Santiago Atitlán together.
